Welcome to Outlook South West

Welcome to Outlook South West.

We offer primary care mental health services to anyone over the age of 16 registered with a GP in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.  There is no upper age limit to receiving help from us.

What do we do?

Our services can be helpful to people who have common difficulties like stress, low mood or anxiety. They can also be helpful for people who have problems that are more difficult, like obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and problems after trauma.

Support is now much more widely available because we recognise how common these kinds of difficulties are. Around 1 in 4 people experience them every year. We hope that through detecting these difficulties early, it might prevent people from needing more intensive services later on.

We offer help in a number of different ways, including guided self help through books and websites, self management groups, telephone therapy, other local resources and one-to-one support which we can offer in GP surgeries and in locality bases situated at central locations around the county.  We will work with you to determine what would be the most helpful support for your needs.

To find out more and to register with us, please click on the ‘Getting Started’ section of our website.

We are part of the national Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme - see www.iapt.nhs.uk for more details. This programme is central to the Government’s plans to increase access to, and choice of, talking therapies.
