20th March 2017

There will be a change to the Outlook South West office phone-line hours from Monday 27th March onwards. This will mean that phone lines will be open Monday to Friday - 9:00am to 1:00pm. 

1st February 2017

As from Monday 6th February 2017 our head office will be closed from 1:00pm to 2:00pm every day and an answerphone service will be available during these periods.

We continue to be open weekdays 9:00am till 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Thursdays until 6:30pm.

Access to NHS services that support people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression will be made easier following the award of a new contract to Outlook South West.

21st December 2016

The Outlook South West offices will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period (24th December to 3rd January). Referrals can still be made via our website (Register Online page) but they will not be processed until staff return on Tuesday 3rd January 2017.

Truro Cathedral will be the first cathedral in the South West to hold a special service for people affected by suicide.

Good news on the Kelly Wilson conference for health professionals, due to take place at the Eden Project in October 2016! The health & wellbeing event we are holding for GP's, therapists and other health professionals is booking up nicely, and we've decided to extend the Early Bird Registration (discounted fee) up to and including the 18th September.

Thursday 2nd June sees the launch of Outlook South West’s latest radio campaign with Cornwall’s Pirate FM.

The new airtime commercials will play out across the county and feature a beautiful track which has been written and performed by local girl Riley Jane Gifford.

This week (16-22 May) is Mental Health Awareness Week. To help do our bit towards raising awareness and breaking down stigma, we have teamed up with Pirate FM to sponsor a whole week-long series of interviews which are being aired during the Breakfast Show with Neil and Tina.

Three health professionals from Cornwall who specialise in suicide bereavement services have been invited to talk at a national conference in London next month (Tuesday 2nd February).

A 2-session educational course starts in Callington on Monday 9th November for people who suffer with sleep difficulties. The NHS-funded classes are designed to help attendees learn proven techniques for getting better quality sleep.

16th October 2015

A four-session educational course starts in St Austell on Monday 9th November for adults who suffer with anger and irritability problems.

Getting a Grip on Anger is an NHS-funded course designed to help people (aged 16+) who would benefit from practical information and advice on dealing with criticism more effectively, ways to avoid road rage and conflicts with others.

Saltash Children’s Centre is hosting a special NHS-funded wellbeing group which is designed specifically for post-natal mums in the area.

The ‘Finding Yourself Again’ sessions are free to attend and are delivered by Outlook South West, Cornwall’s largest provider of talking therapies.

People registered with a GP surgery in Cornwall will now be able to receive NHS-funded one-to-one therapy via webcam from the comfort of their own homes.

A Cornish provider of NHS-funded talking therapy services is launching a free educational course which teaches people strategies for managing work-related stress.

Outlook South West rolls out its Work Well course by launching it in Truro on Tuesday 23rd June. The four 90 minute sessions are designed to help attendees increase productivity and reduce stress at work.
