A Cornish provider of NHS-funded talking therapy services is launching a free educational course which teaches people strategies for managing work-related stress.
Outlook South West rolls out its Work Well course by launching it in Truro on Tuesday 23rd June. The four 90 minute sessions are designed to help attendees increase productivity and reduce stress at work.
Outlook South West therapist and course facilitator, Jasmin Griffiths, said: “We have successfully delivered Stress Buster courses throughout the county for many years, but we wanted to design a course that was specifically about helping people stay happy and healthy in their working lives. Employees at all levels can experience difficulties at work which in turn lead to stress and sometimes extended absences. The strategies we present can help people get more from their work and be happier whilst doing it. That in turn is better for businesses too.”
Stress is now the single biggest cause of sickness in the UK according to the Health & Safety Executive. The Work Well course, due to take place on Tuesday evenings (6:30pm to 7:30pm) at Truro College, covers a wide range of topics. These include: practical methods for improving performance and concentration, improving work-life balance, time management skills and learning how to improve communication and relationships at work. They also look at how to deal with low mood, worry and negative thinking.
