Outlook South West – Low Intensity Workers
IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) First Wave.
Up to 3 Low Intensity Workers posts are available at Outlook South West (OSW), an independent provider of primary care mental health services. Under a new contract award OSW will be providing these services across Cornwall and the new IAPT workers will be integrated into this service.
Salary
£17,700 (Eventually rising to £19,500 following successful training at University of Plymouth - see below)
We have vacancies for people to work as a Low Intensity Practitioners in Step 2 of the IAPT service. There are a range of opportunities available across the county. Ideally the post holders will work full time although we will consider some variations.
Applicants will be expected to provide evidence of working with people who have experienced mental health problems. They must be computer literate and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Degree level qualifications with experience in primary care will be an advantage. Previous experience of cognitive behaviour therapy would also be an advantage.
Interviews will be held in early December. Closing date for applications 28th November. Initally, the job would be offered for a six month probationary period.

Employment in this post is subject to a satisfactory Disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau.
Successful applicants will be provided with in-house training to enable them to work in the post. It is anticipated that postholders who successfully negotiate the probationary period will subsequently be offered a training post provided by the University of Plymouth, (training provided at Truro). The course offered is for one day per week over six months beginning in October 2009 and provides further qualifications as a Low Intensity mental health worker. Following this course the salary rises to £19,500 per annum.
